Digital Art Weeks zu Computerkunst
In Zürich haben gestern die bis zum Wochenende dauernden Digital Art Weeks 2007 begonnen. Dabei geht es um die Wechselwirkungen zwischen Computertechnologie und Kunst. Computer werden in der Regel mit Technik in Verbindung gebracht, seltener jedoch mit Kunst, schreibt die ETH zu den Digital Art Weeks 2007. Hinter den Digital Art Weeks (DAW) stehe aber die Erfahrung, dass auch Künstler mit den Computerwissenschaften neue Werkzeuge erhalten haben. Ein Symposium im Rahmen der DAW richtet sich an Forschende aus dem In- und Ausland sowie an Studierende, die am Einsatz von Informatik im Kulturbereich interessiert sind. Performances und Installationen im Cabaret Voltaire und im Walcheturm in der Alten Kaserne zeigen Beispiele von Computerkunst. Beispiele sind die «Hautkommunikation» mittels Sensortechnik oder ein Computer, der vor sich her philosophiert. Die DAW fordern Künstler auf, sich mit der technischen Seite der Computer auseinanderzusetzen, aber auch die Computerwissenschaftler, von der Kreativität der Künstler zu profitieren.
Das Festival wendet sich auch ans breite Publikum, dem ein spielerischer Mix aus Kunst und Computertechnologie präsentiert wird. Ein besonderer Gast der DAW 2007 ist der deutsch-amerikanische Informatiker und Medienkritiker Joseph Weizenbaum. Die DAW, die 2004 erstmals stattfanden, werden dieses Jahr erstmals von einem Steuerungskomitee aus Vertretern des Bundesamts für Kultur, der Stadt Zürich, dem Cabaret Voltaire der Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Zürich und der Uni Zürich unterstützt. This artaction is inspired by Aion primal geometry -ten symbols found in nature - wich joins all cultures throughout history and time. We will bild symbols from primal geometry using natural elements and materials; stones, earth, water and fire. The symbols include the following; point, circle, parallelogram, cross, spiral, line, triangle, square, lightening bolt, and three points or stars for cosmos. For example, we might build a cross with wood, a spiral with stones, a circle with fire, or a line with water. We work only with local material found in nature and with the natural energy of the place. The concept behind the artwork is to save and celebrate nature trough our creative acts.

The idea and theme of respect and acceptance in communicative art came out my work as an artist. Organisation international exchange comes out my AION artwork. The first signs found in acient cultures throughout the world. Primal geometry connect cultures over all the time.
Die am 13. September 1999 von der Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen verabschiedete Erklärung über eine Kultur des Friedens unterstreicht in Art. 8, dass bei der Förderung einer Kultur des Friedens schöpferischen Menschen und Kunstschaffenden eine Schlüsselrolle zukommt. Die an diesem Projekt beteiligten KünstlerInnen beweisen durch ihr Engagement für Frieden und Versöhnung, dass sie diese Rolle wahrnehmen.
Für diese "World Exhibition for Freedom" präsentiert jede Künstlerin und jeder Künstler seine Arbeit in seiner gewohnten Umgebung: Anne A. Vogt in Italien, Sergio Tilleria in Chile und in der Schweiz, Mantilios Mantis in Zypern, Erwin Schatzmann in Zürich, Abraham Lubelsky in New York, So Un Lee in Korea, Makudy Sall in New York, Tina Zimmermann in San Francisco und Berlin, Barbara Streiff und Bruno Kaelin in der Schweiz und im Ausland, Kurt und Regula Suter-Droz wo ihr Schiff gerade geankert ist. Meistens sind auch einige der anderen KünstlerInnen an den jeweiligen Ausstellungen beteiligt. Das Bindeglied zwischen ihnen ist Barbara Steiff, eine "Swiss Artist on the Road".
Dieses Projekt trägt zur Verständigung, Toleranz und Solidarität zwischen den Völkern bei. Gleichzeitig fördert es die grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit von Kunstschaffenden, wofür sich die UNESCO immer wieder einsetzt.
